About 2 or so years ago I bought a Boro Bar Sample Pack; I received a batch of 4" rods along with a card that has 30 samples of boro bar glued to it. Each sample is glued just to the right of it's number. I also have ABR's catalog (that I got 12/2008) that shows, on page 5, 'Borosilicate Stick Color'. So, on the card I have, in order, #0763-0600, #0763-006?, #0763-0062, #0763-0063. The second number I can't read on the card because they glued the sample to the card covering the last number. But, from looking at the ordering of the numbers, is it safe to assume that the missing number is #0763.-0061? Well, whereas the bar glued over that number looks like Bakerman's sample, in ABR's catalog on page 5 there is no #0763-0061. And, Glow Joe above says 'Midnight Blue', which ABR's catalog says is #0763-0063, but on my sample card #0763-0063 definitely looks more purple than both the color in ABR's catalog and the sample that Bakerman is asking about above. So, what I'd really like to do is fly over to Bakerman to collect his sample, fly over to the factory making boro bars and check with them, and then fly over to ABR and check the backup for their catalog to figure out what is going on here! But wait... did I say fly? And get irradiated or groped by TSA? No way. How about hiring a taxi to do all this traveling? Well, give me a few months to find someone to cover the costs involved to get to the bottom of this problem, and I'll let you all know what I find out.
