Default Translucent colors?

I'm completely in love with CIM Kryptonite for the beautiful translucent quality. I've sadly never been able to get that with Cirrus.

Can you name any other ones with that quality? CIM or any other brand?

There were three different batches of Cirrus. Make sure what you have been using wasn't batch 2 or 3, one doesn't cloud at all, and the other is harder to work. Cooling and reheating should help it cloud up. Marshmallow is translucent when used to encase something if it is thin or if mixed with other glass too.

Lauscha has a lot of translucent colors. Also you might have better luck mixing cirrus with another color. Someone had a thread here with photos....

I think I have the very first batch. All it's ever done is go opaque white for me. So far. I've been meaning to try that super high schedule but never seem to put down the silver glass for long.

Thanks Barbara, but yeah...I kinda do.

Thanks Paula, I do have some Milky Way rods! Forgot about them. I hope everything is going OK with your dad.

Yep anything that says opal or opalino, and alabaster or alabastro will be translucent. But have to remember they don't always play nice with other glasses.

Also placement in the kiln and when it's put in makes a difference, there were a couple threads here on it. Let me see if I can look, here's one

The Reichenbach Mystic 104 line is translucent if you do not work it too long
