Hi All! I did a quick, free tutorial on setting CZs. The link is on my blog. I hope you find it helpful!

(Sorry I'm not much of a writer, but heck, it's free!)

Happy torching!!

Thank you for the wonderful tutorial!

I don't know if you would be interested, but I am willing to pay you $876.00 for a tutorial on how you do your gorgeous feathered bicones.

WOW, how the heck could you be so bad at writing tutorials and then you did not charge for them.

Just being sarcastic. Great tutorial, thanks so much for sharing.

Wow Lisa - thanks! And the CZ is permanently adhered on the outside? I always tried encasing mine and would get cracks but if this method holds them on, then woohoo!!!!!!!!

Hi Amber! Honestly, I've never lost one out of a bead, and I use them in EVERY bead! LOL As long as you spot heat it well until glowing, it should be good to go!

This is awesome, Lisa! Thanks so much for sharing! I've used CZs before in encased beads, but I didn't like having them pushed so far in. I'm glad for some tips on how to do this without coating it with clear.

Thank you, Lisa! A well written, easy to understand tute. Just what a newbie needs to add to the binder of techniques.

Oh, and I'm with Gems in Bloom! Would LOVE to have a tute on how you do those feathered beads!

Thank you Lisa. I do mine exactly the same way, I tried to explain it as backhanding the CZs into the holes, and that was hard to understand.

Yay! Thank you for this...you make it look SO EASY!

And I just love your work...I had no idea your bi-cone beads were quite THAT BIG! Very nice...

I can't think of a better person I'd want showing me how these are used...

Thanks all for the great feedback!! I'm so glad it is coming in handy

And, thanks De! I just love your work too. Your murrini is awesome! It's funny that you mentioned the size, as I have been working today to scale back a bit....with no success. LOL I start out small, and they just seem to grow...usually right at 2".

What a beautifully done tutorial.

Clearly (and well ;} written and what great pictures!

I'm still such a noob I haven't gotten around to thinking about adding these in yet (and I haven't any CZ's and my mandrel hand is still in a wrist brace) but when I get there, with the help of your tutorial, I now feel confident that I won't screw it up!

Thank you Lisa.

Okie, then - here they are! Slightly different application than how Lisa uses them...I added them to flattened dots which sort of created little glass bezels!

Thanks so much again!

I work on a Hot Head, Dioenos, so this method is definitely Hot Head friendly! And CZ's aren't so much "COE" pertinent as they are "depth" or "encasement" pertinent, in my opinion. I've left mine unencased, which seems to avoid any compatibility cracking - just playing it safe. And by the way, I work in COE 104...

Question

Thanks for the tut Lisa

I got my cz's from the bulk buy (thanks Davinia )
But how on earth do you use the 1mm ones?
Why on earth did I buy 1mm ones?
They are so absolutely teeny tiny
I'm can't even tell whichis the pointy side

Can you press the hot bead onto them
Or maybe put them on damp papertowel and roll the glass over them
Any hints greatly appriciated
At least I got lots of the larger sizes too

Helen
