Learn to make a sculptural Screech Owl bead with

Cleo Dunsmore has been creating sculptural beads and jewelry for many years in her Maryland studio.
She is known for her lifelike animal beads, raptors, fish, birds, parrots, dinosaurs, gods and goddess beads.
Come spend a weekend learning how to make a sculptural Screech Owl bead using Moretti glass.
Saturday class will start with learning to make all of the components you will need to complete your sculptural piece.
Time permitting, students will make an owl out of one color. Practicing shape and details that will be of value for the Sunday class.
Making Canes,
Mixing Black, Making eye cane, Amber stringers, Silvered ivory, Making a white core and covering with amber,
Making a white core with amber cover and thin ox blood line
Making a light chestnut core with white line and amber cover.
Working with canes on a bicone bead:
Learn to make a bi-cone bead, wrapped with amber stringer and rake,
Learn how to apply canes and, using Moretti intense black learn how to put hair lines on the chest.
Learn how to fix and flatten as you go along.
Learn the construction of a sculptural owl in one color:Make a bi-cone body
Head and Chest,Wings,Face,Eyes - cane application and clear lens, Beak
Sunday Class Putting it all together in color:
Spend the day using all of the information from Saturday and put your owl together in color!

With a full class of 10 students, a name will be drawn from the class list and a $150 refund will be given to the lucky winner!

For those that sign up for the class, a materials list will be sent out. Most glass needed for the class will also be available for purchase as well as tools.
Basic lampworking tools, mandrels, bead release, glasses are available for student use.
