Default Focals...

To make a nice size focal how much glass do you use or how large of a bead to you start with before squeezing it?...I tried one and it wasn't very big like I have seen in some of your pics...

Thanks for sharing...

I start with 35 to 45mm footprint. This takes about a half a rod of glass, depending on the shape. Once I get the amount of glass that is needed to make the focal size that I want, I start shaping or pressing it. Then, I apply the detail.
What torch are you using?

Lydia...

I am using a HotHead torch...I am thinking about trying to make 3 or 4 small beads next to each other to make a barrel and then shape into a cone or bicone...Adding glass as necessary...Maybe that will help me get a thicker bigger bead...What do you think about that?...
