Blowhose
I just looked at my blowhose assembly thinking I might want to work on some tubing tomorrow and the latex is all cracked, nasty and not at all useable. I guess it's been a year or so since I worked with it.
When you replace yours, do you buy latex again? Something else? And where do you get it? I'm hoping I can get something local.

I make my own assemblies and I always use the latex tubing that you can get at medical supply stores. With the exception of mouthpieces I am still working on the first two I made for myself 5 years ago.

Medical supply is probably cheapest, though I've seen it at Home Depot too. Their prices weren't exactly low.

If that doesnt work out do a web search for neon suppliers. They usually sell the parts. Mine closed about a year ago and I haven't had a need yet to search for a new one.

I have tried almost all kinds of blow hose. And nothing compairs to the latex in flexibility. Although it doesnt last very long. I think you wouldnt be happy with anything else, as myself.

Well I found some a bit more locally than I thought. Had some hanging right on the pegboard behind something. All wrapped up in plastic, I know it's older than the one I was using and it's still perfect so I guess this one won't get left out on a hook.
I checked out the prices online for a few places. Home Depot wanted almost $18 for 10 feet. Um, no. Mountain Glass seemed to have the best price, like 80 cents a foot. I'll tack some on to my next order.

There is a local hardware chain here that carries it in a dozen sizes so I go there.
I'm in there a lot anyway so no big deal.

I'll have to state that, hands down (or up and cheering), silicone rubber hose is the best ever to use for blowhoses. It's even more flexible than latex and won't crack with age. i have some silicone rubber hoses that are probably about 25 years old (if not older, my dad used them) and they're still as pliable as on the first day!

I priced silicone hose this morning at the local hobby shop. $1.79 for the blow hose size. A little pricey! But if it last forever then maybe not so bad.
