Default Leaving propane on?

So I recently upgraded to a system that uses a full propane tank. As I have read, I know I need to keep it outside. For me, that means outside a window. It is really inconvenient to have to turn the regulator on/off whenever I want to use it, so my question is, can I leave the regulator open and just turn the gas on/off at the torch (minor, if it matters)?? I am also using an oxy con if that matters. Thanks!

Turn it off and bleed the hose each time you use it. No pressure on the hose when you are done.

propane is a flammable gas and inherently dangerous. it needs to be kept outside and only turned on when you are lampworking and can moniter it. as c-ann stated, you turn off the tank and keep the flame going until the line is bled. the flame will go out on its own once the propane is out of the line. i then disconnect my torch line from the propane. i have quick connects.
