Glasser,

I was just looking at your studio again, and then I went to your PhotoBucket site to see all of your pictures.

Cool.

I admire anyone who takes the time and has the DISCIPLINE to educate themselves, find a good paying job, works hard, lives comfortably, and plans correctly for retirement.

Sounds like you planned...and planned well.

Soon I will be posting a few pictures of the bead station I made for my DWP. (Darling Wifey-Poo). I am also trying my hand at stained glass, and am in the process of gathering all the necessary tools to give it a try.

In regards to the "splash shield" around your grinders: make sure to coat the painted wood on the bottom of the glass with a couple of coats of polyurethane/urethane, and then use silicone sealant to seal the wood to the glass. This will prevent the water from dripping down into the "glass groove" of the wood and cause dry rotting.

Gotta say one more time...n-i-c-e.

Tell your "Better Half" to pat himself on the back!!!

In Christ: Raymond

OMG! This is just such an amazing studio...if I had this available to me, I'd NEVER leave! (Well, save for that little potty predicament, of course!) How absolutely wonderful for you...make beautiful beads, and reflect and share that gorgeous sparkle and light that emanates from you with the WORLD!!!

Congrats!

Thank you for the kind words, and the tip about the splash gard, I will do that for sure.

Congratulations!! What a wonderful work area. One question. I noticed that you have an oxygen concentrator - What make? What PSI? How do you like it?

I am considering buying one and have not heard a lot of comments regarding them i.e. is the oxygen percentage pure enough? any discoloring? loudness? reliability?

I sure would love to hear your experiences and what helped you make the switch.

Thanks

A newbie - Linda

I love my concentrater. DeVilbiss brand. Especially with my DH getting older, no more wrestling with huge O2 tanks. My studio is upstairs. I run a pirannah and the concentrator works just fine. I run about 2L. Thanks for the kind words. Pam

You have given me hope! This is exactly what we planned to do with our garage in terms of raising the roof, but my husband said it might not work out because of "engineering difficulties." Did you have to get a building permit from your town? I'd love to pick your brain in terms of some of the specifics. Can't wait til DH gets back from the golf course today to show him your pics. Thanks for sharing.

Peggy, Yes, we did have to get a building permit. We had to reinforce the roof, notice the post in the middle of the room? You may PM me with any questions, I'll try to answer or ask DH.

Wonderful studio space & I enjoyed seeing the pics/progression. Congrats also on retiring from nursing. I have 2 hard years left & then glass fun full time!

I especially like how much natural light your space has.

Enjoy!
