Default Free Tutorial - Wirework & Lampwork Scarfpin (Fibula Pin) Back Online

Hi,

Here's a FREE tutorial on my (non-traditional) fibula pins. I have just uploaded this to a free file sharing space. Kindly advise if you have any issues downloading. I apologize for the ads they have on their website in advance. I just needed one stable place to store the files!

I'd love to see the products arising from it, if you complete it.

Enjoy!

----
DUE TO BANDWIDTH AND SERVER SPACE, THIS FILE IS NOW AVAILABLE only in PDF and a zipped version of PDF.

NOTE: I work on a MAC. I have double-checked the file for formatting and viruses. I do not guarantee the file is compatible with all computers or browsers.

YOU MUST HAVE Adobe Reader 4.0 or HIGHER for the PDF file to open. I cannot create something on my system which is compatible with lower versions. Adobe Reader is now at version 9. If you are getting corrupt file messages, please check the version of your Adobe Reader. Here is a link to upgrade if you need to: http://www.adobe.com/products/reader/

If you do not have a program installed to UNZIP the above file, you will need to download something like WINZIP or, here is a link to free software which will uncompress the file

This problem should now be fixed. I was trying to get fancy and use FTP and it failed. All better now.

These are all beautiful! The copper is so striking used on these. Great job and thanks so much for posting your results! I'm sure your colleague will absolutely love them too!

Thank *You* for your generosity! And I really appreciated the multiple formats available. I thought your pictures and instructions were quite clear--the pictorial step by step is fantastic and the format saves paper. I can see, though, turning this tut into an OO Presentation or PowerPoint (well, the Mac equivalent) for people who want the description right under each picture. Doing it that way would hog paper, but would be excellent for a slide presentation format. You can work on wire in front of the computer, after all, unlike working with fire!

As for the copper, Right now silver is beyond my budget, so I tend to work much more in copper. I think I will get some nickel silver for these, as they won't be going anywhere on skin.

DEB: If you are on Windows you can open with WinZip or PKUNZIP, amng others. Download a trial version if you don't need zip often, which it sounds as if you don't. Most of the big programs let you unzip several files before committing to buy, so if you need ONE file unzipped and don't really plan to use the program, that's fair enough. There are free utilities; check with PCWOrld--they have a great page for freeware or shareware downloads, all virus-free. Even if I am using shareware ONCE, I contribute If you are on Ubuntu Linux, the DL manager will handle it for you.

This is AWESOME...thank you so much for sharing.

I'm been looking all over for a huge celtic button to use as the closure on a jacket I'm going to knit, but I'm going to make one of these instead. There was just the one closure at the top, by the neckline and this will work perfectly.

Thanks again. When I ever get the jacket done, I'll post a pic. LOL

I keep getting a "Bandwith exceeded" error. I don't even know what that means.
