Default Tell me about your favorite Frit

Going to be making beads soon I think, nearly there finally. Just a few more hook ups. Yea!

I want to know from you more experienced than me (which is anybody who's ever made a bead!) :grin about frit and what's your favorite frit and favorite color/s.

I know frit is small pieces of glass you roll your hot bead in and melt it in for a variety of colors/effects. That's all I know at this point.

Please tell me your favorite color/brand of frit and why. I'd like to buy some to try.

PS..Is frit dangerous to breathe? Do you need a mask when using it? It doesn't really look small enough to be inhaled or perhaps it comes in a vast array of sizes?

Thanks for the input,
Michele

without a doubt anything that has Raku in it...the most fun to get some beautiful reations and not as expensive as the silver glasses....

I agree w/ Raku....but I have to add Silver Lake. I love the different shades of whites and blues that come out of it.

Definately Raku as well but if you don't like the organic beads you can go for a livelier color.
There are a lot of blends available & yes frit comes in all different sizes & unless you are shaking up dust from it, you won't need a mask.
