Default Slate blue/gray vs. Moretti 252?

I have a small bunch of rods which I am in LOVE with...They are labeled (not by me) "Slate Blue/Gray 252". I've checked a bunch of vendors, and they all call Moretti 252 Gray or Dark Gray. Does anyone know if what I have is really just dark gray, or if there is a color called "slate blue/gray?" It does the most wonderful things with raku/intense black twisties!!!-Gail

I LOVE slate blue/grey!! It's an odd lot. Kinda like they went from the grey into a blue and this was the mix in between batches.

I've seen the number of the vetrofond slate blue as 268 and as 968. It's an odd version of 268 pearl grey.

I think there are both Vetrofond and Moretti slate blue odd lots. I have the Moretti 252 Slate Blue Gray and love it! I'll have to try raku on it next.

And I'm hoping it is the Vetrofond, since I just ordered a bunch from Frantz.
Of course, I just called back and added the Moretti Dark Gray just in case.

Yep, the base is from my rods labeled "Slate Blue/Gray 252" (the 252 part is in question). The twistie is just R108 cane, striped with intense black stringer, then pulled and twisted. The periwinkle was a reaction of something with the base bead! So...a total of 3 colors...the slate blue/gray, R108(raku) and intense black.--Gail
