I think you could pull out the four corners from a circle with a tool.

I'm not really sure which beads on the blog your talking about. Is it the first ones? I know that to make dots look square you would say put six dot around your bead and then alternately between them on each side put smaller dots the same color as the bead, It will cause the main dots to square up. Hope that helps.

Thats because it takes her ages to do it! Really it is just a question of taking your time and pulling the corners, then a bit in the middle etc etc.

try making a dot not melting it in, and marvering and pushing it with a razor or paddle. just heat minimally so you don't melt it in.

HEY, I am here!

Angie, I just got your email and sent a reply. I figured I would pop in here and share details.

Square dots are tricky, you need good heat control, but once you get them... they are easy. It does take practice!

1)Make a large raised dot.
2)Flatten the dot without melting it in.
3)Use a pick to push out the 4 corners.
4)Sharpen the sides by using the edge of a paddle (I have a small metal paddle for this.)
5)Flatten again.

Here are photos of beads with square dots!
