Default Help with red

I am searching for an opaque red that is similar to a christmas red and a transparent red that retains it's color as well. My transparent loses its color when using a wee amount on a bead or creating a small bead. And the opaque seems more brown after being in the kiln. I work with 104.
Thank you for any recommendations- Jan

Lauscha reds and Messy Color reds are the best!

If you are using a wee amount of transparent red you are going to have a problem, there just isn't enough glass to see deep color. I would try a dot of pastel red under it.

The best transparent red is a Lauscha batch I got from Flame Dame. Here: (those are my beads) http://www.flamedame.com/index.php?m...11e28af0b41679

Whoa, look what Heather Kelly did with the Lauscha Red and her Roses. Wow!

I can vouch for the 219 transparent red being beautiful and staying transparent, it's a gorgeous colour. bought a bunch from Flamedame maybe a year ago? It's one of my favourite glasses to use and my clients love it too.
(also, can't go past CIM maraschino for an opaque bright red, it's gorgeous).
Cheers
Mary

I also like Effetre Medium Red or Red Purple.
