My clear turned gold?!
I grabbed a rod of clear from my pile of clear glass, and was touching up encasing on a bead... and the darned "clear" turned gold/orangey after I applied it! Not a clue what this glass is or where it came from. Any ideas what this glass might be?

Ugh, talk about annoying! Any chance a rod of striking orange made it's way into your clear pile? (Effetre 072 for example)

I have some striking red like that! Can you strike the end of the rod and see what it looks like?

Hah I ended up using a striking red on a bead by accident because it really did look like a clear rod, wonder if you had something similar happen. Do you ever buy a random assortment pack of rods? It may have come with that.

Or something like DH Aion, a few silver glasses are clear in rod form. See if it reduces maybe.

Also, depending on the base glass I have had DH Aether Clear turn yellowish. Not Zephyr. Just Aether.

Here's a quick pic.
I haven't purchased Aether or any striking reds, but I have purchased a lot from the garage sale over the years. Maybe something got mixed in with my clears.

Thanks all! It certainly looks like electric yellow.
Now I'll be testing every clear I pick up just to be sure not more got in there.

I electric yellow - such an interesting color. 10 years ago I was exploring the properties of this glass and put up a page about it. Love it for color mixing too.
