Exclamation We need Popular Business Models for a small studio.

To those who have successful lampworking studios with two or more blowers we ask this :
What is a common reationship between
The owner and the employee?
Is it common for the emplyee to receive hourly pay for his or her time on the tourch, or does the blower receive a percentage of the profits that he or she has generated?
Or perhaps there is another arrangement that is common or optional.
What happens in your shops?

I am only a single person shop right now, but for a while I had a person working for me, and a second from time to time. They were paid hourly. I supplied everything - torch, tools, glass, etc. All they did was show up and work.

I did this for two years or so. It worked out well but there isn't enough business these days to be able to do it. Too many people blowing glass and willing to sell stuff for a fraction of what they should be going for. There just wasn't any profit in it any more.

Cosmo,
Could I ask you how much you paid these blowers per hour? And what would that entail? How many pieces of what size would you get for that?
