What incredible talent you all have! I'm always hesitant to post in the Boro S&T since I'm such a boro newbie but what the hell. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

A couple of hearts and a swirly vortex pendant. All learned in Brent's class.

Default Pierced Boro heart

[quote=e. mort;2844289]Good job! I hot pierced a heart like this once, but I put the hole too high and my kids said it looked rude, so I didn't make anymore. LOL

Just a thought - couldn't the heart have been made around the mandrel so the hole from the mandrel is where the hole is in this picture?

I haven't used boro, yet, signed up for a class in a few weeks run by Bernie Stoner from Kangaroo Island, South Australia.
Really looking forward to the experience as I went to an intermediate lampwork class a year or so ago given by Bernie which was excellent. Fantastic teacher!

Cheers

Good morning all!
Woodart, yes, you could make a heart using a mandrel, I've done it. But they don't look the same, at least mine don't This one was done using Brent's method. Like Eric said, it was hot pierced.
Have fun at your class! Be forewarned.....boro draws you in and doesn't let go

Thank you, Cathie, for the kind words! I've been having a blast lately with metalwork!! The mixing of metals and glass is endless....and only limited by one's own creativity (and skills)
