Thistle request/ ideas???
I have a customer that would like a thistle, .. just the head w a bit of the green. I did one implosion, one as a bead.. I did not like either. Any suggestions from ya'all? I am going to give up soon. 😕

Have you tried a lotus bead without melting in the opaque color where you pull off?

Good idea, I will show her an example of one and see if this what she had in mind.
I used encased stringers on the last one, layered in up., I just didn't care for the finished look. But I will probably use that design for another project. So it wasn't a total loss.

If you go to Etsy and search lampwork thistle beads, a couple of examples come up. Not saying to copy those. Just look. Maybe something will click...
I make my thistle beads with a cone base and striated stringer learned from a tutorial. Gemsinbloom's tutorial I think?

I made a few with encased vine stringer a few years ago. I pulled the cane off to leave a sharp end on each swipe, and went back and let them round out a bit so they weren't stab ya sharp. They turned out ok. Could have used a bit more refining, but was overall a good start
