* Please discuss differences of using a 5 lpm Oxycon with Nortel Minor OR a Cricket *
Would any of you please answer the following questions and expound more freely as you wish? I am getting a Respironics Millennium non-modified, rebuilt 5 lpm oxygen concentrator. I really want to know the following:
1. Will it run a Nortel Minor Torch as effectively as a Cricket?
2. If it will run both torches just about the same, which torch can make a finer point for detail work and a bushier flame for general work?
3. And finally, for either torch, what is the minimum distance from the torch head to the back of my flame-proof workspace? And what is the minimum height for my overhead exhaust vent?
Thank you all for how freely you share your expertise.

Yes it will run a minor which has a bushier flame than a cricket
2' deep bench with fireproof backer on wall is fine
Min I would mount it is where you don't smack your head on it when you stand up!
I went with a minor on 1 5lpm to 2-5lpm and then to a Regalia

Thank you David. From what you say my overhead vent may be to low... here is a diagram of my worktable and overhead vent.

Just curious... Why do you hate your tanked oxygen?

Kristina is it just an 8" pipe or a hood?
The tiles should not be mounted directly on the wall but on a backer board spaced 1" off the wall.
I have a hood so I didn't want to smack my head on it.
Emmy check on CL or the GS here
