I don't know how much gas you'd use. There are several variables, like the brand torch and how far the valve is open.
But, if you have access to natural gas, I'd be looking at the COST difference between the two fuels. That is how I would decide.
I'll bet your natural gas is a LOT cheaper than buying BBQ bottle propane.
