Default glass blowing on a minor????

Someone told me that its very easy to do. I would like to make friendship balls but need to know where to start and what supplies I would need. All I really know is that I need glass blanks. (Feeling rather stupid)...what would glass blanks look like - do I need boro - HELP !!!

If someone here could walk me thru the technique I would be forever grateful !

Don't know what a 'friendship ball' is but I've seen Ray Olsen blown some pretty big stuff on a Minor.

To do this will almost certainly require tanked oxygen to get a big enough flame though.

friendship balls are just glass balls about the size of a christmas tree ornament. I have an oxy con. Probably not enough heat hey ?

Fun stuff....... I wrote a article for Glass Patterns Quarterly Magazine a few years back, that shows how to blow christmas ornaments (boro) on a minor.
We just had a class on Blowing Lauscha Tubing..... using only the Bethlehem Piranha (the center-fire of a Cuda) and we were making small vases and wine glasses!!
Even with an oxy con, you can do it. Have fun!

Pick up the next Glass Patterns Quarterly... I have a "how to" in there on a simple but AWSOME style of X-mas Boro ornament. Great to make on any small torch! It should be out soon.
