Thanks, Kay. I might be weird, but this sculptural piece was way easier for me than the beads I have made. I think for me it is an attention deficit problem. I liked making all the wee little pieces, then putting them all together. With a bead, because boro melts slow for me, it seems to take forever. I'm on a minor with an oxycon. Plus, I don't have any frit or anything, so my beads are simple twisty beads. I'm still getting used to the whole idea.

Took me about an hour to make this and it is only 3 inches tall.

Try the sculptural stuff...it's easier with boro than it is with soft glass. Not as shocky and you have more time to make adjustments.

All I know for sure is I had a blast. Go for it!

I didn't no. I do with soft glass though.

With the boro pieces, I just set them on my hotplate, and even that was because they are so small and it was easier for me to pick them up from there.

Plus, I already had soft glass beads in the kiln. This boro work was a total whim, so this piece hasn't even been annealed yet.

I don't know enough about it to be giving too much information, I'd hate to tell you the wrong thing.

I've been watching a lot of glass videos on youtube trying to get a feel for the way this stuff moves. I believe it has helped me immensely. Here is a link to who has helped me most.
