Default Basic wire working & findings creation tutorial

In case any of you are interested, I am working on a tutorial to teach basic beginning wire-working skills as well as making findings. This will be great for those of you who have wanted to do wire working but have no idea how, as well as for those of you who want to make your own findings. I'm going to cover:

tools - what are essential, what are optional, and others that come in handy

materials - exploring metal types, wire shape, hardness, and gauge

basic forming skills - bends, loops, wrapped loops, spirals (vertical and horizontal), twisted wire, and hammering

findings - dangles, links (wrapped and spiral), clasps, bails, ear wires, and jump rings.

I'm not sure if there is any interest in this, but I thought it might be helpful. Also, if anyone wants to see something I haven't listed, let me know and I'll see if I can fit it in.

Here's an example of my work so you can see the quality of my wire working:

Here is a picture of a link that will be taught in the tutorial:

Feedback, suggestions?

Sounds like a great idea Theresa. I'm sure there are lots of folks here that would like a tutorial on basic wireworking.

Cheers
Kathy
