Micheal,
your floral implosions are stunning, I love the way you angled the flower rather than looking directly at the face, very natural. awesome work.

Thank you very much for your compliment - much appreciated!
I have been working on some borosilicate heart pendants lately - they are between 40mm and 49mm in length. All 3 are on etsy now.

Dave, those are Reticello patterns. Check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YmXk5b6ufc
You can do this on tubing too.

Thanks!
Bunyip posted a good tutorial video on making the retticello on a rod, but these are all done on tubing essentially in the same fashion. After the design is finished and puffed out thin, I implode the retti similar to a tube implosion, and then work it like a compression marble to give it a very 3d look.

hehe, thanks, I love making them and I really do want to see them in Electric Blue Velvet, but I think with making this small detailed stuff I'm beginning to realise I probably need prescriptions soon for up close ... aaah, getting old.
and Harold? You're kind of freakin' me out man! ... kind of ... thanks!

Yes, the imploded shiny blue is Electric Blue Velvet. The sparkly blue backing color is Elvis Blue Stardust.

Just wow lol! Such amazing stuff!
I made my first pathetic attempt at an implosion pendant. I don't have pictures yet, I am a little afraid to post it, I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt laughing. It was fun giving it a go though, I haven't really done any off mandrel work before and the different punties got rather confused, then stuck then warped lol.

^^^ your next attempt will be far less pathetic.
post some pics so you can have what the rest of us have: a bad reputation to out grow.

lol I will post pics the next time I get the set up out. I realized as I was looking through this thread that most of the implosion pendants have a flat back and I was going for oval teardrop lol. And somehow when trying to switch punties one of them somehow got attached to the side and it took awhile to work that baby off lol. I was laughing rather hysterically myself before I was done.
