Volcano beads?????
HI all!! I have seen some beautiful beads on etsy which I would like to try out. They are hollow beads, done on a 3/16 mandrel but the artist has put multiple large holes in the bead. The artist is from the Ukraine and her beads are stunning. I would love to try this out, but don't know quite where to start, they are also done with106 Coe glass... she also calls them Volcano beads..any ideas out there???

None, short of asking the artist if she sells a tutorial for the technique.

There are a few threads on blown beads, it's a traditional way of beadmaking.
Here's a recent one that was bumped up

but her way with the holes not so much, ask her ? She might be willing to tell or let you know if there is a tutorial.

Volcano beads
Hi ya! Thanks so much for the ideas on how to find out how to make those beads.... super......just ask the artist herself... I doubt that would be a problem as i don't want to make them for sale, just for myself !!! . Cheers, tina

Spot heat where you want the hole, and then blow it out. To do the second hole, spot heat and when ready to blow block the first hole with a graphite tool. For the third hole...no idea lol...
Maybe she is a Jedi and spot heats and blows all the holes halfway (leaving them as bumps) then does a quick reheat and pops them all at once with one mighty magic blow. That would be fun to see!
