Default Papashop? Homestead? Please help!

Well, I'm going to take the plunge and build a web site. I am (almost) completely computer illiterate so a very easy/inexpensive do-it-yourself program is a must. Any suggestions? I'll be selling my silk ribbons and some lampwork beads. A way to track inventory and pay w/PayPal is necessary also. Please help? Thanks! Kathleen (KAS)

I use Mal's eCommerce, a free cart that integrates with PayPal. I have a tutorial on setting it up at my second site. I also have a HTML generator (requires Excel) that produces the buttons for the cart, all free.

I've had both, pappashop and homestead. They are both very user friendly.

I love Pappashop. Have been with them for a few years now, and they are consistent... rarely ever down, which is huge. Good customer service and they get back to you right away.

Mari......I ended up using Pappashop. I find it very easy to use, a great price and yes, the service is really fantastic. Here's my Pappashop web site: www.kasbeadsandribbons.com What do you think? Kathleen (kas)

Cheryl.....YES, you CAN do it!!! I knew nothing about building a web site but Pappashop makes it so easy. It's just "point and click" all the way through the process. Please give it a try.....it's really fun! Thank you for your kind compliments and good luck with YOUR web site! Kathleen (kas)

I want to take the plunge as well, but I'm also a total noob when it comes to building websites...

If you want complete control of the design of your website -- there is one program that is inexpensive and user friendly for someone who doesn't know html -- SiteSpinner
http://www.virtualmechanics.com/products/spinner/
You can download a trail version and just play with it -- even if you go to Pappashop -- if you understand how to make a website look the way you want it to -- SiteSpinner for $49 isn't too bad. Also they offer a free place to park your website.

Several bead artists have their own website as well as an etsy etc. website -- if you go this route and want to know how to design a website SiteSpinner can do it.

10 years ago I could do html -- and when I was asked to get a corporate website up and running a couple of years ago I cheated and used SiteSpinner. If you don't use html ALL THE TIME -- you forget it.

It is great to hear good reports on Pappashop -- As a customer I've used Pappashop websites and I've not found a major glitch. (If there is a website glitch -- leave it to me to discover it.)
