I have a roll of black craft foam, that I have had for years, got it at Joannes. Google craft foam. It is not expensive!

When I google craft foam what comes up is the really thin craft foam - was hoping for something 1/2 inch thick.

If you're anywhere near Memphis, check out Scott Foam. They will custom cut whatever size and density foam you want, and their prices are fantastic.
