Default Encasing bright colors with 96 coe

Does anybody know if bright colors like red and yellow have the same cracking issues when encased with 96 coe as opposed to 104 glass?
I had some lovely encased petal beads all crack on me when I used acid yellow as the base bead.
Thanks,
Pam

Is your intention to use bright 96 COE colors for your base bead?

Leaded 96 Coe is more forgiving and you should be able to encase 96 Coe reds and yellows with Kugler, Reichenbach or Gaffer clear. I'm not sure about System 96 Uroboros 96 clear as I believe they are lead free.

Thanks Elizabeth. I have plenty of 96 glass except red and yellow and didn't want to purchase any more if I was going to have the same cracking issues.

I think it depends. I have been working with 96 alot lately. I had some orange and some yellow/green opaque beads I encased crack. Now I just clear core anything in the red, yellow, or orange range to be safe. All the transparents seem to do fine encased.
