Lentil Press?
I'm a newbie and starting to collect tools. What Lentil Press is the best one to start off with, size wise.
Thanks
Chris S.

I could not live without my cattwalk 1 inch lentil press. I have bought and sold a LOT of brass tools over the years, but this was one of the first brass shapes to come out, and I just find it's a great tool to have around.
it's a great size (cause it's forgiving - if you make one a little too big or too small - still retains the lentil shape) and as a newbie, you won't have to try to control a lot of glass to get it to work.
plus, it makes a nice sized pendant, and/or bracelet focal bead with a lot of surface area for decoration. (I don't have giant boobs, so it never occurs to me to make giant doorknob beads to wear as pendants...obviously, to each his/her own)
to complement it, I also have a will-not part-with matching 2 sizes, smaller press.
again, a very forgiving shape because you don't have to get it to fit inside the 'mold' like a spree or pastille in order for the press to "work".

This one was my first stamp and I still love this one, specially the straight sided.
The bead right in my signature has been made with this one.

Hi Chris,
I have a lot of different lentil presses at home. The one I like most is a Zooziis too.
The large slim straight sided lentil.
It has a great shape and you don't need to much glass to fill it.
Greetings
Kathrin

My first lentil press was the catwalk 1.25" lentil.
I love the size of it and the bottom is reversible so you can make flat- backed lentils as well.
I am also still in love with my zooziis medium plus duo which has .75 straight-sided lentil and nugget together. It is great for small focals / chunky bracelet beads.
