Default Moving on to Boro

Hi All!! I just bought a bunch of Boro and I will get it in about 1.5 weeks. I have been beadmaking using COE 104 glass for about 6 or 7 years. I still want to work with soft glass too, not together of course. I have a Cricket and 1 oxy concentrator with a grill size tank of propane. I know I will eventually want a bigger torch... and more oxygen...where does it end... Where is a good place to start with Boro? Can I make small components to later be added to a more complex sculpture and just bring them up to the correct temperature in a kiln when I want to use them or is preheating them on a hot plate good, not annealing them until they are added to the more comples sculpture? Thanks!!!

I anneal everything I make right away including things like cane that wont be used immediately. In my opinion this is just good practice. I have seen some really nasty accidents that have occurred while cutting un annealed soft glass cane.
