Question Irritating issue with my clear encasing...

Hi,

I love to encase my beads, and usually they turn out crystal clear. When I make a round bead, no pressing with my brass zooziis presses, my encasing looks wonderful. Clear, not cloudy at all. But when I make a lentil bead that had been encased and then pressed with my zooziis lentil press, the outside of the bead has a film on it. This makes for a cloudy bead, and it is driving me nuts. It does not look like chill marks, and the glass is smooth, but it has a slight film on it. I am using a small diameter Lauscha and bulk propelyene with a HH. Does anyone know why this is happening, and how I can avoid it?

Thanks!

Is your press clean? If its relatively new, it may still have some machining oil on it which needs to be washed with soapy water..

Or maybe you are using some bee's wax on it?

I have tried three different things so far to see if it will help. I wiped down my press with alcohol, wiped my glass down (again) and I will make double sure to not put my bead too close to the flame in case it is a slight burn to the glass.

Thanks for the advice.
