Default simple stamen tutorial

I know I have seen this somewhere. But now that I need it I can not find it!
Can anyone help? It is just the one with black and clear so you have little black lined centers in yo r flowers.
Thanks

Not sure where there's a tutorial posted...I'll check in a sec and if I find any, I'll edit to add links.

Anyway.....................

I've done my stamen cane like this; for YOUR purposes, I'm describing the method using black and clear:

1. Create small gather using a strong, dense BLACK, such as Hades or Tuxedo. Make sure this is a very small gather as you don't want it to end up a "trunk" in the middle of your delicate stamens.

2. Encase in a thin layer of clear. Be sure the black small center gather retains it's nice circular shape.

3. Heat the clear/black gather, roll on a maver and create a barrel shape, thus starting to elongate the center black gather.

4. Using a black/Hades stringer, add stripes all around the clear encasement. Be sure not to get them too close to one another or they'll start to blend.

5. Melt them in a bit to adhere; encase again in a thin layer of clear.

6. Heat this entire gather gently, and again shape into a barrel.

7. Repeat process of adding black/Hades stripes and encase again in clear.

8. Depending on your torch, tools on hand and comfort zone working with larger gathers, continue the process of adding clear encasement then black strips.

9. Finish with an encasement of clear to stabilize everything.

10. Heat the entire gather, punty up and pull into a stringer sized (2-3mm) cane.

Use this cane to plunge into the center of flowers, and nip it after plunging leaving a 1-2mm bit sticking up. Add a tiny drop of clear atop the sticky-uppy part and when the clear is melted in, it will expand and make the stamen "open" a little which looks really pretty!

Hope this helps!

De, I know I wasn't the one who asked the question, but your answer was very clear, very helpful and I will try it, also. It was also kind of you to search out other sources.

I am not an expert, but I read this in a book and it is a bit of a short-cut that I have used successfully. Use a filigrana rod with the color you want the stamen to be. Heat a once inch piece and "fold" it down to meet the rest of the rod. Repeat, until you have a bundle of four or five one inch pieces that have been "folded" to meet the rod. As you make these "folds," try to create an even barrel shape. Once you have the barrel, attach two punties, heat the gather, and pull.
