Oxyg Concentrator question
My husband bought me 2 Oxyg Concentrators (both 5LPM) at auctions. I have few hours of lampworking under my belt, and trying to start my own studio. I don't have a lot of free cash to spend on a refurbished OC. Is there something I need to do to my OCs to convert them for lampworking? I plan to check the filters and simple maintenance. Any help is greatly appreciated!!

My only suggestion would be to contact Kimberly at "Pyronamix" with any questions you have. Even though she is in the business of selling concentrators, I think you will find her to be friendly and helpful.

Before you send the email write down the make, model, and hours used.
It will save you a trip back and forth trying to remember it all.
You might find an owners or service manual online as well.
Usually the trouble shooting section is most important.

You will find there is a lot of information in the various threads here.
Use the search box and enter "oxygen concentrator" to get a list of conversations about using them and what you can expect.
If you have any other questions use the " " quotation marks to group search words or phrases together.

If they are the same PSI link them together to a hose to the torch and run them both for lots of heat. You dont have to do anything special just let them breath through the torch with the oxygen on. Dont shut off the valve let the oxygen just flow at all times.
I have 3 hooked to my GTT Phantom.

I start mine up and let them run for a few minutes while I get out tools and glass and such.
Then I turn off the oxygen valve on the torch for 10 seconds while I light the gas and then turn the oxygen back on.
This lets the purity of the oxygen concentrators come up to max and the circuits wont alarm while the output is plugged up for the 10 seconds you have it turned off to light the gas.

Is there a certain percent of Oxygen output (e.g. 92 percent) that I should look for in an Oxygen Concentrator? I just bought a Carlisle Mini CC and I don't really want an Oxygn tank in my house! Thanks. Jdleigh

Why? Oxygen tanks if handled right are much safer then a propane bbq tank.
