Yeah, it's been around a while. I think it's imported from China?? I think Satake's colors are more exciting tho...

it seems pretty sketchy... "easy-flow"... talk nicely to any glass and it'll flow!

The higher the c.o.e. the higher the lead content = hence "easy flow"

Actually, the colors are very similar to Satake. I ordered a sample pack a few months ago and was very pleasantly surprised at how nice it really is. Their photos just suck. It flows like Satake, so if you like Satake, you'll probably like Easy Flow. The color line isn't as extensive, though.

Yeah, I know the bead sux. It was my 1st attempt at a Victorian Rose, lol.

So all in all, I like the glass and would buy it again, if I ever used what I have.

I read a thread about the austin Hamilton beads loosing shape while annealed at 960. I wonder???? Same glass????
Same manufacturer?

Shawnette..... what was the annealing temp?

Hmmmm.....

I am glad I am not tempted.... Finally, a glass I do not feel compelled to own....

Easy flow....yeah...right. I've used Satake (which is 120 COE I believe) and at 132 COE this stuff sounds like you'd be making beads with hot melted butter. Of course, I'm kind of heavy on the hot, since I work with a lot of boro as well as soft - but still - 132 - yikes. Make sure you put something on the bottom of
your kiln just in case it spikes. Bead puddles.

I tried some a few months ago. It was hard for me to work because I like it HOT! But the colors were pretty. That and Kinari are the only glasses I have actually not gathered in my soft glass frenzy. I should probably unload my Satake too. But if I was on a hot head I would move in that direction. Gosh Lauscha was such a bear on a hot head I would have loved using something softer.

132 COE? What do you work that on? A Bic lighter?

I finally tried some Satake the other day and couldn't believe how little heat it took. I can't imagine working something even softer...

I firmly believe that if I could harness that power, I could melt quartz no problem.

LOL!!

I have tried Kinari and wow, you have to keep turning that mandrel for a long time after you're out of the flame or you will have a wonky. Too easily. The glass is translucent, pretty stuff too.

This glass is more than likely from China, and I don't reccomend you use it on anything more than a HH. I've had trouble with it on a minor, just because my torch doesn't particularly like being that low.

On the other hand, I love the Satake on a HH, minor, or betta. It is just a little stiffer than the easy-flow, and a bit softer than the Moretti. Ok, a lot softer than moretti. On the other hand, it is really nice for making complex canes, and your bead holds heat really really well.
