My suggestion was - If it's used as a substitute in any frit blends that used Z-99 before like "Monet", for example, it would work nicely enough so the frit vendors who make blends using Z-99 don't have to discontinue them. In fact, it won't get that ugly powdery dirty pink spotted look like Z-99 gives if you do something it doesn't like.

I don't know what the big deal was about the Z-99. I had no problems with selling mine off. Meaning I don't feel guilty at all, because it was too finicky for me. I have much better results with EDP, as much as I despise working with it.

So, if anyone wants to try the Purpur out, ThatFritGirl has it!

Oops, forgot this - here's the link to the frit in ThatFritGirl's website:

http://www.thatfritgirl.com/category...-96-c.o.e..htm

Click on "Examples of Purpur" and check that out. Holy Frit!! I didn't see this pic before, so it does get a little pinkish cast like the Z-99! Good to know!

I used to throw Z99 into any of my existing frits to give it some ooompf. I ran out a while back and I just never got around to getting more. I have sooo much frit I just didn't see the need. For my floral focals it really gives a nice little dash to my monet like flowers for my field background.

i think that the big deal is that some people have worked the ugly powdery dirty pink spotted look into their designs, and other glass doesn't do it.

Noooo that ain't ugly! Dat wut it posta do! Seriously, it's beautiful!

I really should get a picture of those Monet beads I have that are SO ugly that I etched them and made them uglier! This blend had big pieces of the Z-99 in it, so I got the icky patches of yuck. I think I've been hoarding that set since 2004.

I swear, you guys....this is the ONLY set of beads I have ever made in all of my 9 years doing this that I hated so much I didn't sell them! (I've sold a lot of uglies over the years!) The chalky Monet yucks...ya wanna see 'em?? LOL!

I think I know where they are, so if I find them tonight I'll get a pic!

If anyone out there doesn't want their Z-99 just go ahead and send it my way. My mailing add is in the RAOGK.

Here's what it can do and why I'm going to hang onto this color as long as possible....

Beautiful beads, Yee!

I'm still looking for those ugly beads and I know they're around here! I've just moved so many things around since my mom's house fire that the bag of saved lampwork is probably in a small box and buried...somewhere!

Just a fast question - what do you think of rose or salmon Zimmerman? I think I may also have some amethyst I haven't used.

I have some salmon and like it fairly well... I haven't used much of it yet though. The rose didn't do it for me, but I'm not much of a "soft pink" girl. I think it would be great on some Easter Egg themed beads though.

I'll try this here. what is the proper way to use the z powders? do you heat them lightly or alot? if you heat them too much do they lose colour? I get the devit thing and heating it back to glowing, I'm just not sure how to make these work at their best.

thanks

Wow, excuse me while I wipe the drool. I love that, it looks like raku but different.
I'm gonna have to try that combo, I don't have z99 cane but I have some stringer.
thank you for sharing that.

On the far left with raised dots is Zimmerman 99 cane. The others are Z850 from "That Frit Girl"

I love the Z-850! It's like a slightly more pastel version of the Z-99. I also have a little Z-851 but I haven't played with it yet so I don't know how it compares.
