Question Torch help

Ok so I have found a concentrator EX15. And wondered if the midrange burner will work well with that? I am also looking at the Carlisle Mini cc and the Minor. Thinking maybe I should do something a bit bigger just in case I want to try some boro. All input will be greatly appreciated.

Check out the Scorpion or Cricket, both which work great with an EX15.

I had a Mini CC and now I use GTT Bobcat. The EX-15 would be perfect with the Mini CC, and it would be fine for small-medium boro. But what would melt boro a little faster, would be the Bobcat. The Bobcat is also hotter than the Cricket. The GTT torches have a more sharply focused flame than other brands in the same class, and this melts glass faster.

If you want to go hotter yet, then the GTT Lynx is worth considering. This torch is a step up from the Bobcat, and a step under the Scorpion. The EX-15 should be enough.

The midrange is a bit weak on one EX-15, not bad on two.
(I own both the Midrange and EX-15s)

The GTT Bobcat is hotter than the similarly priced Nortel
or Carlisle torches but any of the approximately $200.00
torches are good to start with.

They will all melt glass, and they are all consistent sellers
for the companies that make them, so any of them will be
fine.

Forgot to mention the Bobcat when we spoke earlier. GTT torches are really great...love my Scorpion and understand the Bobcat is terrific as well. You definitely could do boro with that.

Hi Angie

I just saw that as well, is it similar to the lynx? Read a couple of review said they had issues wit buildup?

It's smaller than the Lynx which has 2 oxy valves .... bobcat has 1. As for build up, I've heard that about the Scorpion as well, but I haven't had any problems.

M-20? I would go with the Scorpion!

Someone please help me out here...that's the one that has the Cricket as the centerfire, right?

The Bobcat is about $200, and the Lynx is about $435. Either of those will keep you happy for a long time. If you can, go for the Lynx.

Of the two I would suggest the Lynx. I own one and it is the centerfire on my Mirage which I use alone most of the time. Lots of us here can help you come up to speed on that torch. The triple mixes are the most versatile of the GTTs. Unfortunately I cant tell you how well it will function on concentrators as I just run tanked oxygen. I think there is still one for sale in the garage sale here.

I had a Lynx and didn't find it worked as well as I wanted with my concentrator. I think it just wants more oxy.
