I originally posted this in the Potty but I think maybe it needs to hang around a little longer that two days before being "flushed".
Seems there are a bunch of fire extinguishes that are being replaced by the maker at no cost due to problems with the plastic valves and nozzles.
While I was chasing details about Christmas Tree Tinsel I stumbled on to this webpage :
https://www.cpsc.gov/Recalls/2017/ki...-discharge-and
And this is the headline across the top of the page;
Kidde Recalls Fire Extinguishers with Plastic Handles Due to Failure to Discharge and Nozzle Detachment: One Death Reported
The pages are well worth reading from end to end but eventually you will be directed to this webpage:
https://inmarmarketaction.com/kidde/
There are a few pages to click through to get to the forms to fill out but they will send out replacement(s) right to your door.
Do be careful to double check if the model you have is listed as needing to be recalled though.
There was an issue with filling out the form concerning date codes and eventually their system told me that one of my two did not need to be replaced but when I called and spoke to a human the young lady told me they were having problems with the software and that both of my extinguishers did meet the criteria and would be replaced in the mail.
Just thought everyone would want to know.
