Default Pinwheel cabochons

Anyone know of a tutorial for making a colorful pinwheel design on a cabochon?
(kind of like swirls of different colors spiraling into the middle of the bead)

Ann, that's the tut I thought of immediately, too, and couldn't find the link since I changed computers. Thanks for posting it!

Thanks! I think that might be the setup. Then put a stringer in the middle and give it a twist so all the stripes spiral around to the center.
I'll give it a try today.

Great tutorial, but didn't get the result I was looking for by inserting a stringer and twisting. I'm going to try to heat the center and pull/twist to make a swirl, then reshape.

Would love to see pictures even the ones that weren't exactly what you were thinking. I haven't tried this yet, but it's certainly on my todo list.

Lonerp - thanks for tutorial!!!

Frit Diva - your welcome .

I think you mean Jari Sheese, and I agree her work is lovely! One little letter difference between us, although we share an addiction to Puffy Mandrels! Jeri

Keoki you can do a spiral by offsetting your dots evenly around the bead. Not sure if this is what you want but here is one I did. This is a disk bead tho.

The idea of not having to use a cab mandrel really appeals to me.

Oh oh oh Look at the buttons posted by "Kartwheel" in the Gallery 3/25. That's exactly what I'm trying to make. So....Kartwheel, do you have a tutorial I can purchase on your technique? They are beautiful!!!!

Hi Keoki,

Thanks very much. I'm sorry, I don't have a tutorial, but check out the Avenue Beads tutorial. From the picture it looks like the swirly cab is very similar to what I've done, but I can't say for sure since I only have his shards tuts (they're fabulous, highly recommended).
