moretti and vetrofond
Are there any compatibility issues using the two together? I have read both yes and no so would like to hear from someone who uses them. Right now all I have in the studio is moretti and a little R108 that I use a bit at a time. I am wanting some other colors that I can't get from moretti.

The quick easy answer is no, they are completely compatible. The real answer is that there are some moretti colors that don't work with some other moretti colors (mainly Opalinos and Alabastros) and they won't work with Vet, either.
The main/popular colors are 100% compatible. In fact, a lot of them are indistinguishable.

I haven’t tried using the Alabaster colors yet and I have done some with the opal carnelian, and opal yellow. I used them only on the surface. Are they the ones you are referring to? Any other info on colors to avoid would be great. Thanks!

I have not discovered any issues yet. Not with the ones I use. I even use some opalino and alabastro, though I have to admitt I tend not to go overboard on either of them.

Opal yellow is not an opalino, carnelian is though.
The opalinos and alabastros are the slightly translucent colours. Very pretty but a PITA to use.
