logo help
hi all, im having one done, just simple one for now, banner etc will be a bit more enhanced. this is really rough so far but i thought id see what you all thought about the direction. i wanted a glass world with my name on it, not happy with the font, not sure about the red. it was grey/black and i filled it in a bit so its not perfect but you get the idea.
black letters on top of first globe and other world pic is just one i found off the internet, trying to make sure it really looks like glass. do you think the ones with the writing look like sandblasted glass?
thanks!
ro

I like the first 2 globes the best & they do have a sandblast look. I like the second font better. Here's one I found on Print Shop that's kinda cool.

I'm not crazy about red. If it is your favorite color use it, but if not, I'd look into other colors.

Is there a reason you're sticking to such a flat image?
This is what I came up with banging around on my photoshop:

I like the first one you posted, the black and white. it screams "50's diner" with overtones of industrial highway warehouse shops like Tent World or Furniture City. I love those.

this is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
flat image because someone was making it for me and its hard to convey what i want, kept saying more 3d, but slow going.
i actually was thinking of going a different direction, some variation of these maybe, i actually like the line drawing in b&w as opposed to the photo of the glass, i know ro should be above the world in that one, dad did it for me, the outline of the world stuck out, so he moved it up, lol mr perfection couldnt have an uneven glass edge. hes wonderful for helping.
do you all like the world with name better or this new idea?
so hard to decide
celticat, where are you getting your font from, i love that one.
thanks all for your imput , this is so hard to do without feedback.
then i was thinking if a photo maybe i could get a picture of a glass with the globe sandblasted on it rather than in it.

I'll have to dig up the fonts for you at home.
As for your wineglass idea - I would think a glass on its side with the glass world (or worlds) spilling out, and your logo super-imposed over the WHOLE image would be more appropriate. The logos you have going above are OK... but they're very 1980's or before. You don't need to be so 2-dimensional anymore since printing techniques have advanced so much.

OK-
The font used is "Century" - Set with the 'Sunset Sky' style filter in photoshop. The top lettering is set at a 50% arc 90 pt font, the bottom at 70% arc, 70pt font.
I found a more clear glass globe and played with two variations on the same theme. The wine glass idea would actually prompt me to pull out the camera and it's always way too dark when I get home from work.
(Can you tell I've got my degree in this stuff?)
