Need non-striking transparent orange
Can someone suggest a pretty non-striking orange in either 96 or 104 please. Thanks!

I agree with Sheila. It's probably my favorite orange.

Isn't Clockwork a striking orange?? Do you get consistent color from one bead to another?

I never try and strike it. It's already orange and I use it all the time. It is translucent. If I want opaque orange then I like Effetre 591424 Red Carrot or 581422 Orange Special which is lighter than Red Carrot.

I can't seem to get consistent color with Clockwork, the tip of the glass always burns out to clear for me. There is a new orange out that I did like, CIM Orange Crush, but it opacifies if you work it a lot. It seems a lot of the strong oranges do. Vetrofond had some great ones, Orange punch? I agree with red carrot sparkle, nice nice color.

clockwork strikes to some extent....and also depending on your flame settings you may get cloudy orange or bright transparent orange/red.

Lauscha's tangerine is a really nice color, but it's more translucent than transparent.

I'm not sure that there is a non-striking, consistently clear transparent orange in soft glass. I've worked with the effetre strikers and had mixed luck with those, depending on how my torch was behaving that day and whether I'd gotten enough sleep the previous night. It's a tricky color at the best of times. CiM Clockwork is one of the best if you want a good strong orange and don't mind translucency. I have found that in small, thin applications, like the dots for flowers, that it does stay transparent. In very thick applications, like for a base bead, it might go opaque or partially so.
