What do you mean by broken? If it just has a crack, I've fixed those by heating in the kiln then slowly introducing to the back of the flame & heating to heal the crack (while still on the mandrel)
I've heard of people putting a bead back on a (release coated) mandrel & then putting a dab of extra release at the bead holes after the bead is on the coated mandrel to hold the bead still while they repair it, but haven't tried that myself. You would still need to heat it in the kiln for a while to get it good and hot, then slowly slowly into the back of the flame, etc.
Maybe you could practice on something out of the 2nds bowl?
