Default Margaret Zinser at Craft Guild of Dallas - March 5,6 & 7th

Margaret is currently featured in the Feb. "Bead & Button" magazine.
Come join us at the Craft Guild of Dallas for a wonderful learning experience with Margaret Zinser. Class dates: March 5, 6 & 7th. 10 am to 6pm. $400 for first 2 days, $200 for 3rd day, $600 for all 3. Class fees do not include lunch or glass.

First two days:
Shaping, Encasing, and a little Color
This workshop is geared toward the intermediate beadmaker, addressing ways to improve shaping & encasing skills to create elegantly shaped, technically superior beads. Starting with fundamental shapes, Margaret guides students through a logical progression of “classic” bead shapes. The second day of the class includes instruction on different strategies for encasing focal beads, as well as how to deliberately distort base color with clear glass. With each new shape, you will learn a different application for color. Color topics will include: the use of frits; silver leaf, foil, & wire; crushed goldstone; enamels; “neato” reactive colors in the Effetre pallete; tricks for developing color in Reichenbach-108 (Raku/ Iris Orange), and other silver-rich colors.

3rd day:
NEXT STEPS
For the intermediate beadmaker wanting to take their skills in shaping, structure, and texture a little further. We’ll cover sculpting beads with razor blades, a few off-mandrel additions/applications for mandrel beads, and a pendant with a bead bail. As always, Margaret will address individual roadblocks in technique with students. Bring your questions on shape, color, form, and texture!

Don't wait too long to sign up for Margaret's class. It's really going to be great!! And she's a wonder at teaching shaping. I made my best bicone bead ever in her class in Las Vegas last year.

I took a couple of classes from Margaret at Glass Craft and Bead Expo a couple of years ago, including the Shaping, Encasing and a Little Color class. She's a great instructor and a lot of fun.
