Hi Virginia, why do you choose the Select over the Express? The Express is actually closer to the school, is a few bucks cheaper, and incudes a continental breakfast with a couple hot things to eat and stuff to grab and go (where the select is a restaurant option only).

Prolly cause that's where all of the cool people stay? That is where the bar and pool are.

Not that I'm cool or anything I like being able to walk from the hotel. I'm used to walking a lot, so walking a mile before sitting around all day helps me get the fog of sleep out of my brain.

I wish to differ - the COOL people stay at the Holiday Inn Express! Very nice place and we all meet in the AM for breakfast.

No my excuse is that I am old and tired and looking at hundreds of pounds of glass that needs to be cut up.

Virginia!!! It's going to be awesome to meet you! Looks like I will know more people there this year than ever before!

Some folks like the Holiday Inn Express because it's closer and quieter. The Holiday Inn Select is... um... the party hotel. Like when I was there a couple of years ago. LOL! I still crack up thinking about it... A "certain someone who shall remain nameless" was partying with all of us in the hotel bar. There was a wedding reception going on in the bar at the same time. This "certain someone" thought it would be a good idea to hit on the bride. ROFL!

I'll be easy to spot: I'm the grrl accompanied by the guy wearing a kilt. LOL! I might even have my "got tink?" shirt on.

I've given up on fixing my email issues before we leave, so I'm just going to bring whatever vessels I have available with me. I'm trying to save up some money for our trip to Europe, so I probably won't be trading.

LMAO Paula! He's never worn kilts to teach, though I think that will change starting with Kansas City.

Hi Tink!
It will be awesome to meet you!! And, I *will* be looking for John and his kilt, for sure (I love a man in a kilt)! And just maybe we should add the kilt to the contract, don't ya think?!

Yeah, like Tink and Wes said... it's the party place! Hey, if I'm going on a road trip... well... !

Hi Ofilia! -- Thanks so much for your recommendations on the Express vs. Select. Being close to the school is convenient. I appreciate everyone's thoughts, as I have not been to either one, and am only going by what I've read on the forum.

At this point (so close to the conference) I'd just like to find a roommate... any ideas folks-?

Hey Paula, if I can entice you to leave your Lauscha order, I'll pick you up on my way down I-95 and we can share a room. What'd think? That way, I can drive, you can close your eyes on the way over the bridge, and all will be good! Think about it, this could work.

nighty-night kiddos, I'll see ya in the morning!

Paula, what do you mean AGAIN?

Hahahahahahaaaaaaaaa!

Virginia, our room is already crammed full of people who have to put up with my snoring, or I'd invite you to stay with us. It's the Toledo Lunatic Fringe. I don't know the intimate details of anyone else's sleeping arrangements, or I could try to hook you up.

Um just thinking about kilts and gutters.....Guys and Gutters. Guys and Kilts. Gutters. Kilts. Guys..

This is one's mind works when she has spent 30 years working in an all male office but kept the door shut so they'd leave her alone.

I need to get some sleep. I am punchy.

OK, I lied. I'm still up posting.

Tink, thank you sooo much sweetie. You are terrific! But jeez, if you keep tempting me with things like kilts and the "Toledo Lunatic Fringe" -- how can I not crash *that* room? Huh, I ask you? hahahahah!

Hey Paula, we'd let you be Irish in NJ. Awwww, come on why don't ya-!

Hi Tink... I'm not buying.... skirts are drafty, kilts are wooly and itchie.... I'll stick to my slacks instead. Be nice to see you two again. I'll get a chance to wistle at John's legs ! I hate it when men have prettier legs then women! NOT FAIR!!

Ciao,

Ofilia

PS Hi Virginia, there is someone looking for a room to share on the ISGB thread under "events". If she has not yet found a room mate, you should drop her a line. Ah... I see you already found her... Best luck and see you there!

Hey Ofilia,
Thanks so much. I had a problem with the user settings (--the making of my email address available to readers part). Still unavailable as far as I can tell. So, I'll have to check to see if they have posted anything.

LOL Ofilia! Not ALL kilts are wool. And I don't wear skirts, either. I guess you could say I wear the pants in the family. Heheheheh...

Now, the challenge will be to get everything done we need to do before we leave bright and early in the morning. Anyone want to come and give the Puppy Princess her bath?

I think I'm going to sit this one out. I really hurt myself lifting glass last night and am stupidly exhausted on top of it! I'll try to get myself together for GAS but I dunno. My life is a three ring circus lately! I just want to stay home and sleep! Or melt glass...Have fun everybody!! Please post some photos!

Just an FYI - not on the list but SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper is the Wellesley Inn Penns Grove - I mean its like half the price and not far. I'll still party with anyone, anywhere as long as I can drive back (legally) to my hotel.

Has anyone been to the Sat. night dinner before? What's the dress code?

Open bar or cash bar or what??

And I have a sofa bed in the room so... if you are really hard up for a space...

I'm easy to pick out - I have a black ski boot cast on my left leg - too much running and not enough resting!

I'm not a big fan of the dinner, but if you're asking these questions I'm guessing that you've already paid for it

Obviously somewhat nice, but don't worry too much about it. You'll see folks in suits/nice dresses or in ripped jeans...

Carolyn,
When I spoke with Mickey at Salem CC a few weeks ago, I asked her what the meal was like (because I have allergies) and she said "oh, it's not a meal, it's hors d'ouvres and a cash bar.

*Thanks* for the tip on the Wellesley Inn... good to know.

So.... Thanks and HI to everybody who was there - Tink - I forgot about the kilt!!! AND I SAW YOU GUYS- DUH - I kept thinking - now there's a man I'd like to meet!!! (tee hee don't tell my husband!)

Hors d'ouvres there were and plenty of them but the topper was the "musical performance" - reminded me a lot of serious performance art I've seen - but NEVER anything like that!!!!

And Wes, your art is incrediable - congrats to selling to Elizabeth!!! WOWOWOWOW
