Default Any tips for cutting Murrini rod?

I have some really nice murrini rod (90 COE) and I have little glass nippers, but I can't get it to cut off in small even pieces.... and they fly all over the place....any ideas?

Yeah, my small nippers don't work either (wonder if they can be sharpened?) I use my big nippers which work beautifully. If I'm slicing face cane which I like sliced really thin and smooth, or if I'm slicing large diameter murrini, I use my diamond saw.

I use the big nippers too, and cut into an open brown bag, that seems to capture most.....jeri

I do it underwater. The disc nippers work great this way. The water does three things, captures dust, captures murrini and helps give a nice cut due to some molecular voodoo between the glass and the water.

Nice video BZ, that's the way I do it too (with boro), I've just had mixed results with softer COE glasses at the snap-off step.
