Default Oxy Con Questions

I am in the process of designing a home studio. I currently use a HH, but recently purchased a minor (All my classes where on a minor) to use when I finally get space in the finished basement.

I have an opportunity to purchase on oxy con from an oxygen supply store going out of business. I've listed below the info that the store gave me on the oxy cons they have available. I was just wondering if any of them fit the requirements for melting soft glass with a minor torch and propane.

Any help would be appreciated.

two puritan Bennett Companion 590's - used
-two Oxylife units - new in box
-two DeVilbiss 3 liter - new in box
-two devilbis SolAris III - 1 works, 1 beeps and probably needs work

new in box $325
used $250

If any of them will produce oxygen at about 5 LPM at a supply pressure of about 7-9 psi and have a about a 95% oxygen percentage efficiency, they will work just fine.... IF you can find a new one that meets these specifications and its only $325 you better snag it real quick.... New in box these units are $800-$1000.

If any of the used units meet these requirements and have low hours, the $250 price is not bad....

About the one that beeps occasionally... Its trying to tell you, its going to be beeping a lot more in future....

Consider the DeVilbiss Solaris that works. That will be enough to run the Minor for soft glass. If you ever decide to go into boro, you can get a second DeVilbiss (doesn't have to be the same model) or just get a larger concentrator - by then, your investment will probably have already paid for itself.

The 3 liters are too small. 5 liter is really the minimum.
