Default Erratic Flame

So I've been working all day with no problems. I turn everything off and have dinner and whatnot. I come back downstairs, make 2 beads and run out of propane. Annoying.

I change the tank and come back and I'm having some big trouble with an erratic flame. Sometimes it's just "breathing" sometimes it's almost off and the. Comes back full blast. Needless to say, stringer work is just not happening and I'm kind of shitting bricks since I'm already behind on an order.

Anybody had this happen before?

Someone suggested turning the regulator up to 5 or more. I disconnected it and brought it inside, I'm hoping the frost melting might help too.

Any other advice?

Make sure every thing is off and back your regulator adjustment all the way out before you open the main valve on your propane tank. Then reset your regulator. Sounds like either the auto cutoff in the tank is starting to engage, from turning the tank on with the regulator open or the regulator is fluctuating. Resetting the regulator should fix that.

I ended up disconnecting and going to bed since it was 2am and I really didn't want play with propane outside in my pajamas and look like a dope for the neighbors.

I tested it out today and everything seemed to be going good. Maybe it was just stuck on the settings for the almost empty tank.

Thanks everyone for your help
