Kevin, I bought a lot of BOM years ago and I'm in Switzerland. I was charged shipping at the time and wouldn't mind doing it again. I'm almost due for another big order for my teaching studio !

Anna, do you know if it is a custom's rule or agriculture rule that is prohibiting shipping outside the US?

edited: just saw Kevin's reply. Sounds like he has it in the works. Yeah!

How cool is that? I was born in 1960, I was a 'wannabe'. I used to ride my bike to Lee park in Dallas and hang out with the hippies as a kid.

Love BOM too, I used to do Foster Fire, but it started flaking after she sold the business. I couldn't make any bead without it flaking all over the place. I am nearly out, down to 1/4" in the bottom of the bottle, this is great timing.

As far as shipping, I paid a fortune to Rio Grande to ship some Sunsheen burnishing liquid for my tumbler. It was a one time thing, the bottle is huge and you only use a capful of the stuff, so I am good. I don't mind paying shipping if it is for something I really want.

Hi Kevin,

Regarding shipping only to continental US:

What method are you using to ship the BOM? If it's using the US Postal Service, shipping to Hawaii and Alaska (NOT the continental US) costs exactly the same as shipping to California, because California, Hawaii, and Alaska are in the same postal zone.

If you ship UPS or Fed Ex, I totally understand not shipping to Hawaii or Alaska. It's horribly expensive.

BOM is my favorite, and I'm almost out. I hope that if you do ship via USPS you update your shipping policies to include Hawaii and Alaska.

Thanks!

As a for instance, to ship to Canada would cost $16.81. Is there a profit margin built in that allows that sort of shipping charge? Unfortunately not. It's not as though we don't want to ship elsewhere, it's just that we can't afford to at this time.
If sales go through the roof, anything is possible.

I know you've waited patiently, for the most part. Canadian shipping is now available. Check our web site for the details.

Well, once again I've been educated. Believe me, it's not the first time.
As Lyssa pointed out to me in a post above, shipping to Alaska and Hawaii is the same as California.
So...here's the update on shipping: I'm shipping all over the place-all 50 states, Canada and Europe.
Go to my web site for further info.
The only place I won't ship to is the moon. I'm still working on that one. Also, the Space Station isn't out of the question, either.

I just found this thread. I'm so happy. I've tried them all and BOM is by far the best.

Any possibility you'll be offering 32oz size again? I know, I can get 2 16oz bottles but I liked the bigger ones.

Unhappy BOM - Kevin ?

HI Anne, I've been trying to talk to Kevin about my fairly new bottle of BOM and the very strong odor it's developed. I E-mailed him last week, PMed him this week through LE but still no answer. I hope things are ok or maybe he's on vacation or something basic. The last bottle was fine but this batch smells like the water from a Well which has impurities / bacteria in it. Soooo please if you reach him let him know the problem is not corrected yet. Thanks, Katherine

Hi Katherine,

Any bottle of bead release can develope what I call the grunge funk septic smell. I make bead release too and use purified water and it can still happen sometimes. Even with the funk smell, the bead release is just fine to use, just stinky.

What you can do is there are a few different things you can add to it to kill off the smell depending on what you have at home. You can put in a few drops of rubbing alcohol, or if you have vodka in the house, a few drops of that. You can also do a few drops of bleach.

Shake it up really good several times a day. Wait a couple days before you add any more, sometimes it takes a while for the grunge funk septic smell to go away without adding anything extra to it.

As suggested, I am keeping my BOM in the fridge. So far, so good. No weird smells or green looking goo.

Default BOM

Thanks JameyLynn, I appreciate the thorough explanation. I've read several threads about the mold and smell but so many different kinds of alcohol and "wink - wink" this and that, I was more confused than when I didn't read the threads. I will use your suggestions and thank you for your time. I've always liked BOM and want to continue to use it but the smell is very strong. Katherine

I got my bottles ages ago. All is well with them - no smell.
I could have posted here but forgot. Senior moments come and go and I forget even them.
