Default Boro India Green - who?

Who makes it and who has some for sale in Nov. 2009. No, not the glass on special sale price but who has some in stock?

This is a green that came with good words from John Kobuki when I was in his marble class in Rockland, Maine, a while ago.

Thanks,

Sue

The only green I remember him saying kind words about in regard to deep encasement was the gunmount green, the original dwarf green.

They don't really make those anymore. GlowJoe has a new reformulation of it that's supposed to be good for deep encasement, but I've only tried it once so far. It's still intact *shrug*

You might consider sending him an email and asking if it's still available from somewhere

No, India Green will take a good deep encasement. I know the old dwarf green is rare... possibly extinct unless anyone is willing to kill for it, which I'm not. lol...

I think I have it in my notes from the class, which I put away and have to find. I cleaned the house when someone was coming over... rats, where did I put my stuff! Will have to hunt.

Yes, but I don't know if that is it. The name was "India Green." I'll ask Ed when I see him tomorrow. He had some and gave me a rod. I'll post back here when I find the answer to my mystery.

it's a good color. doesn't carry the punch of dwarf but it does cost 40/pound retail and you can buy as much as you can afford.

works easy, smooth. little thinner over distance and a little more prone to boiling at the point it enters the flame than dwarf, but for most uses it's a home run.

two years ago I took a class with John and he talked of a green then. how ever he did say he had just a small quantity of it left. so I'd assume its not India Green, but a green no long in production

Murf,

My class was a month or so ago. I did find my notes and JoJo was right-- It is India Green from Glasstronics. It can be encased without cracking.

Thanks to all for the assist.

Glasstronics = India green. Its pretty much the only green i 100% trust. I have never had any issues with it, and ive used it with deep encasement many times. The only bad thing i have to say about it, is that it thins out a little, and a bit grainy. I dont mind the small sticks, i can always melt a few down and pull em out if i need something bigger(still better than borosticks).
