Default Glass Hoop Earring Tutorial - FREE!!!

Hi everyone! The images I took last night came out fine. I was worried as I took them at night, with bad lighting and a flash. I really love my camera!

Anyway, here is the link to the tutorial. Please show me what you did with it, and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask! Also, if you feel that what I showed is incorrect, etc. please let me know!

Cool tutorial and not at all how I thought it would be.
Thanks for sharing it!!!!

I was thinking that maybe you could also try this by fusing. Make long strips and then put them over one of those barrette molds (maybe something smaller) and then let them drape into a curve. That's honestly how I thought you made them.
Now if I can get perfect rings, I'll try this lol.
Gotta wait until the end of the week to try it though.

Reenie, I have added a link in the tutorial to my ring tut. See if that could help you with your ring making!

You're a star Diana! Thanks so much. I don't know if I'll use it but it's lovely to see another cool technique.
And I love your new name.

This is sooooo cool!!!! I'm wondering if I could just use my glass bandsaw or my ring saw to cut the glass. I'm pretty sure I could. But the hardest part for me will be making the actual bead on the big mandrel. Then making 2 the same size. YIKES!!!
Very nicely done! Thank you so much!

I like Ambers idea with the barrette mold too. But I may have a deep slumping mold somewhere in my pile of fusing stuff to maybe slump the glass for this technique. My wheels are definitely turning.

J.

Jeanette, I do not have a band or ring saw. It would actually be super easy to cut it with that. since these rings is much smaller than the rings I normally make, I make 2 on one mandrel. That way I can sort of eyeball their size

Bethany, go for it! Just remember, the mandrel really need to glow pink before you apply glass to the mandrel. PM me if you have any problems. I love to help where I can.

Thank you Sadie!

Well De, get a flex shaft tool next time. You can get cheapie ones that is not pedal operated, but I must stress, the foot pedal ones really rock. You can fit all your 'Dremel' bits in it. I have even once used it to drill holes in a wooden shelve. The motor hangs in the air, and there is very little strain on your hand/arm.

A quick Google brought this one up: http://www.contenti.com/products/fle...s/236-971.html
