Default Raku all smoggy!!! Help pretty please!!!

Hiya,

As you can tell i probably need a lil help!! I'm on a Mini CC and no matter what i do to my Raku it keeps getting smoggy!!! wheather i work it in the back of the flame or the front! doesnt matter what base colour i use, or even how i cool it or super heat it!!! I've tried blowing on it, pressing it with brass, pressing it with graphite, i've tried dipping the brass paddle in water first to cool it and then super heatin the bead but nothing works!! I even tried standing on one leg!! haha!! Any help or suggestions you can give me would be super helpful!!! Many thanks Bron

PS-sorry my camera does not want to play today so i will post pix when i can find a camera that does work or when mine decides to stop being silly!!

Sorry, i can't get my camera to work!! its so frustrating!! By smoggy i mean ontop of the gorgeous colours that are coming through there are these huge big clumps of grey black stuff!!Almost like soot!! it's like you can see this beautiful blue and purple coming through and then BAM! horrible grey black sludge!!! will try and put pics up this weekend!

Can you explain what you mean by smoggy? What colors do you get?

Without seeing pictures, it's hard to tell, but it sounds like your flame may be slightly reducing while you're working. Can you up your oxy a bit to see if that will help?

I was thinking the same thing as Toni. Raku get all dirty looking if you have a reducing flame, so I would try cranking your O2.
